LIGHTFAIR International is returning to Chicago for the first time since 1995, and it represents a significant event for Focal Point. The manufacturer of architectural luminaires was founded on the city’s southwest side a year earlier, and the company is making no small plans for the May 8-10 show at McCormick Place.
Focal Point will unveil a dazzling new booth (2402), introduce innovative new products, and showcase technology platforms centered around human experience and well-being as part of its “Bringing It All To Light” display. Seem® 1, Skydome® Edge, ID+ 3.5" and 4.5" cylinders, and an acoustic linear luminaire and baffle system are among the new products that will make their debut. Human-centric technologies Connected Solutions™ and Preferred Light, introduced late last year, will also be on display.
“We have accomplished a lot and made great strides in establishing Focal Point as a true force in the industry since we began operations 24 years ago. We are creating new paths to market leadership. LIGHTFAIR gives us a great opportunity to explain how, by placing the focus on the business end of lighting design and installation, we are enhancing the overall specifier and installer experience. I encourage everyone to stop by and visit with us.”
- Mike Thornton, Chief Marketing Officer at Focal Point
Here is a quick overview of the products that can be viewed in the booth:
The newest addition to the Seem family, Seem 1 is engineered to take advantage of design flexibility and easy installation with a slim 1.5-inch aperture, independent direct/indirect or direct-only distribution, and suspended, recessed, surface or wall mount options. Skydome Edge is an entirely re-designed addition to the popular Skydome product line-up, achieving a classic look with a low-profile housing, a recessed lens, and a sharp, knife-edge profile.
The ID+ 3.5" and 4.5" cylinders, companions to the downlights family, as well as a brand new acoustic linear luminaire and baffle system, give new meaning to design flexibility for open ceiling applications. The narrow LED luminaire, featuring a sound absorbing housing made of eco-friendly material, offers distribution and customization flexibility, and can be paired with coordinated unlit baffles.
Connected Solutions is a multi-partner program that enables the industry’s broadest offering of connected luminaires to interface with preeminent, whole building lighting control solutions. The smart luminaires integrate with lighting management systems through both wired and wireless networks, and help optimize lighting and temperature for maximum comfort and energy efficiency.
Preferred Light is a uniquely engineered solution that has earned high praise for its ability to render more natural skin tones, richer wood shades, and greater color vibrancy. Backed by independent research on human preference, it uses advanced LED technology to enhance spaces and provide more comfortable and visually appealing environments. A dedicated, exclusive immersion space will allow LIGHTFAIR visitors to experience it.
