Focal Point is pleased to announce we are one of the original Armstrong DC FlexZone partners with EMerge Alliance® Registered products. These 24V DC products are designed to easily integrate with Armstrong’s DC FlexZone ceiling systems, and receive power from the ceiling grid.

Armstrong DC FlexZone is the only ceiling grid system that provides an infrastructure for the delivery of low-voltage DC power based on the EMerge Alliance standard. Since DC FlexZone enables safe power distribution through the grid, this allows the repurposing and reconfiguration of a space without the need to rewire.

Why DC power distribution through the Ceiling Grid?
Today’s devices use DC power. Cell phones, computers, electric cars, electronically ballasted fluorescent luminaires and standard commercial lighting controls all use DC power. In addition, we now have multiple clean energy sources that generate DC power, including solar and wind. Every conversion from AC to DC, or DC to AC creates losses (feel the heat from your laptop battery, that is wasted energy). If the number of conversions is reduced, energy is saved. Focal Point’s DC FlexZone compatible luminaires may be specified with confidence. They operate just like our standard luminaires, just on a different power platform and are registered to the EMerge Alliance 24V DC Occupied Space Standard. And they have the added benefit of contributing to energy savings and space flexibility.

How can we help you?
